Lovella squealed as she was kicked, but did as she was asked and stayed put. She laid on the ground as she wondered what was taking them so long. As she rolled around on the soft grass, she smelled their scents returning and rose to her hooves. She tossed her head in happiness when she saw Toby returning with the runaway, but also knew that Valerie didn't like her. Maybe she should just go....but no. She loved Toby. She would stay, and make the best of things. She rubbed Toby's neck when he returned to her side, and nickered softly.

Toby grinned and nickered back to her as she rubbed against him. He sniffed her neck and back, making sure she was ok and nothing had happened to her while he was gone. “I think its going to be ok now,” he said nudging her gently. “At least with Valerie that is, I can’t speak for Tali.” He sighed hoping everything really would be ok. He looked down at Val and smiled to her too. “Now, how about we all go to bed?” he asked gazing from Val to Lovella. Nickering, he pawed at the ground a little and layed down on a soft patch of grass with a snort.

"Ok daddy." She said and laid down beside him. ' I really HAVE to give her a chance for daddy' She thought to herself and closed her eyes. she licked Toby and then tucked her head to sleep.

Toby smiled as Val lay down and leaned against him. He licked her back and lifted his head to look hopefully at Lovella. Sighing he set his head against the ground and waited to feel the warm skin of the mare lay against his back.

Lovella watched, privately thinking how wonderful it would be when Toby had a true child to call his own. She lowered herself down to lay beside him without speaking. She threw her head over his back for a few moments before she laid it back on the grass. She blinked at the stallion, her eyelashes long and fluttering slightly.

Toby grinned feeling the mare lay down. He threw his head back to look at her as she lay behind him. He smiled and laid his head back down on the grass silently, closing his eyes.

Tali trotted back into the land and watched carefully. When she saw the sleeping horses she sighed. She laid under a tree by herself and smiled then closed her eyes. She laid her head on the cooling earth and smiled again.

Sunshine came blazing through the cover of some trees nearby; Lovella blinked rapidly with long eyelashes, torn between desperately wanting to get up and run around and wanting to stay with the heat Toby provided. In the end she gave up, comforting herself with the fact that if all turned out well, they would have a long life together. She rose with stiff legs, wincing at the feeling of pressure. She shook her mane, which she was saddened to see had clumped in knots overnight, and she began to slowly walk the kinks out. In no time at all she was feeling better.
Mane and tail both knot free from brushing against some scratchy tree bark, Lovella scooped up grass with her lips and chomped it energetically. Her stomach was freshly watered from the stream not far, and she felt ready for whatever the day might hold. Her skin shone, white patches glowing in the hot sunlight and making the brown look even darker. She blinked slowly as she watched Toby sleeping, and her tail swished behind her. Swallowing another mouthful of foliage, she stepped closer to him and waited.

Toby’s ears twitched as different sounds came to his ears. He shook his head, lifting it slightly off the ground. He grunted and rolled up to lay on his stomach blinking in the bright sunlight. Looking around he smiled seeing Lovella and he rose to his feet. Shaking the dirt from his yellow and white coat, he whickered to her and bobbed his head happily. Taking a drink he trotted over to the mare with a large grin and gently nuzzled her with the side of his head. Looking around, he noticed that Tali had returned and he smiled at that since it made his herd a little bigger. The filly, Valerie, still slept and he just whinnied happily as he looked at his land. Nuzzling Lovella again, he took a mouthful of grass and chewed it contently.

Tali woke up and stood. She shook her body, pushing the dust away from her body. She smiled and trotted to Valerie whom was still sleeping. She now ignored Toby and Lovella as she munched on the soft grasses.
