Viz knew he would have to make one last effort to get the wolf off his back. He reared, pawing the ground until his energy was almost drained, and then let himself fall backward. He landed with a thud on his back, hoping to land on top of the wolf. He rolled over, getting quickly to his feet again, wanting to see the wolf crushed under his weight. Jessie's eyes widened as Viz flipped himself over, thinking he had actually given up. But then she realized what he was doing, and let a whinny escape her throat as he got up again. She pawed the ground in impatience, hoping the wolf was dead, or even if he would finally give up.

Watching silently, Cami stood by Jessie and watched impatiently. She snorted and reared up as Viz fell on his back. Her eyes were glued to the spot where she hoped to see the wolf laying when Viz got back up. She too pawed at the ground and only then looked to Jessie searching for an expression on her face. Could this really all be over? Swishing her tail she looked back to Viz.
